    La publications des Principes de droit commercial reprennent après la Seconde Guerre mondiale sous le titre Traité théorique et pratique. La nouvelle ligne éditoriale divise les diverses institutions du droit commercial en volumes indépendants (cf. Avertissement de J. Escarra). Ensemble complet des 6 vol. parus de ce grand Traité, qui, pour la période antérieure à la réforme de 1966 sur les sociétés, constitue la synthèse magistrale de l’état du droit. Cette 3ème édition des sociétés commerciales est dominée par la présence de Jean Rault qui est considéré comme le principal auteur pour toutes les questions liées aux sociétés. Il est d’ailleurs intéressant de noter la présence d’une longue notice nécrologique à la mémoire de Jean Escarra.
