    "Using the balance sheets of these companies as a basis, we first traced the sources of their losses, both from external events and from flawed financial management. The problems of asset valuations and depreciation, as well as the profitability and security of invested capital, are examined in detail, particularly in light of practices both in Switzerland and abroad. After diagnosing the problem, we reviewed the actual therapeutic measures in the second and third parts, namely the various restructuring measures involving a more or less extensive reorganization of the financial base and an appropriate adjustment of the assets and liabilities on the balance sheet. As can be seen from the statistics, capital reductions play a considerable role in this restructuring."
