    This is actually the doctoral thesis (1872-1873) that the author, René Garraud, completely revised for publication. At the time, he was awarded the first gold medal and the prize of the Minister of Public Instruction by the Toulouse Academy of Legislation for this study. This work, which deals with the right to claim and insolvency, was published just one year before the first edition of his Précis de droit criminel (Abridged Treatise on Criminal Law). Rare.
