    “From their introduction, the authors, both of whom have teaching responsibilities on banking matters, present their concerns in a didactic manner, which their book effectively achieves. The various medium-term credit techniques for industrial and agricultural equipment, for export, consumer credit, and popular loans are quickly but clearly explained, and the arrangement diagrams are developed practically in the text and in the appendix. This practical concern in no way means that this book does not include more general, not to say theoretical, developments. Indeed, Rueff’s introduction reproduces his now well-known ideas on “monetary regulation and the institutional problem of money,” which should provide the reader with the foundations of a general abstract model from which they can theoretically develop the inflationary or expansionary consequences of financing investments with money market resources.” (Pierre Tabatoni, Revue économique, no. 2/1956, p. 338 et seq.).
