    J.-E. Driault, in the Revue d'histoire moderne et contemporaine (no. 3/1905, pp. 218-229), provides a review of more than 10 pages and concludes his observations thus: "Thus ends, in a remarkable unity that constitutes its highest value, a historical monument which, despite any reservations that may be made, remains worthy of its incomparable subject." This is the definitive edition of this work, which has a very unique provenance: the library of Marshal Ney, who was executed in 1815 for having joined Napoleon during the Hundred Days (denounced on the list drawn up by Fouché at the request of Louis XVIII).
